Section Chairs are elected by student voting delegates during the section business meetings at section conferences. Section Chair terms are 1 year in length, beginning on June 1. Any alumni or graduating seniors who have initiated into Alpha Phi Omega (regardless of home chapter) and are currently local to the section are eligible to be nominated for Section Chair. Brothers interested in running for Section Chair should plan to attend the respective Section Conference.
Region Chairs are elected by student voting delegates during the region business meetings. Region Chair terms are 2 years in length. Any alumni who have initiated into Alpha Phi Omega (regardless of home chapter) who live in Region H are eligible to be nominated for Region H Chair.
Alumni volunteers can serve the Region H as chapter advisors, extension coaches for new chapters, section staff, or region staff. Alumni can also volunteer for special projects, such as serving on a conference planning committee. Any alumni local to Region H are welcome to volunteer with us, regardless of their home chapter. Brothers interested in getting involved in Region H should complete the volunteer interest form linked below.
In addition to advising chapters and serving on section and region staff, many alumni serve the national fraternity. The Alpha Phi Omega Board of Directors, as prescribed by the National Bylaws, is the governing body of the Fraternity between national conventions. The Board has the power (within the confines of the Bylaws) to act on all matters it deems to be in the best interest of the Fraternity.
Additionally, the Fraternity has a National Operations Council that is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Fraternity’s programs and other administrative and operational functions. The council is comprised of ten program chairs, who oversee the various program areas of the Fraternity, and 18 regional chairs who represent and oversee the administration of the Fraternity’s geographic regions.
In addition to the Board of Directors and National Operations Council, the Fraternity is supported by various ad-hoc and task force committees. The number and nature of these committees varies with the Fraternity's needs.
Each region is represented on the national convention legislative floor by an alumni voting delegate.
Alumni voting delegates are selected before each National Convention. If you are interested in representing Region H as an alumni voting delegate for the next National Convention, please reach out to the Region H chair.
Alumni Associations are a great way to stay involved with the fraternity without committing to a region/section staff position!
